Welcome back to school!

The new school year has taken off to a fun and busy start as students settle into classroom routines and enjoy the company of their friends in the playground.

Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Elizabeth Pitruzzello, Libby for short! I have had many years of experience in teaching, leadership and management within the education system. My present position as Leading Teacher of the Primary Sub School at Jacana School for Autism (JSA) is a responsibility that I greatly value and enjoy. There is so much that I like about working as part of the JSA Team!

Jacana School for Autism is a community made up of dedicated staff who work together to provide a learning environment where students feel safe and welcomed. Teaching teams provide inclusive classrooms and are very much concerned about motivating all students to learn and achieve their personal best. I am so impressed with the way teachers throughout the school collaborate to adapt the Victorian Curriculum to ensure all students are enthusiastic about participating and become confident learners by experiencing success.

Jacana School for Autism is a school that values and respects the individuality of each student. Personal Learning Support Plans are designed at the Student Support Group meetings held at the beginning of the year and are reviewed throughout the year to ensure students are on track with their learning.

I look forward to meeting with families at Student Support Group Meetings which will be taking place over the next few weeks.

All the best for the New Year!
