Around Our School

Welcome to Our International Students

On Friday, Mr Andrew Batchelor, Ms Cathy Hogg and Ms Helen Wilson welcomed our International students back to school. We invited our homestays also to show them our appreciation of their care of our students during the summer holidays.  Mr Batchelor presented certificates for our students who completed their online English program during this time which showed commitment to their study in the school holidays.

The International students missed not being able to travel back to their home countries to enjoy time with their families, but had the opportunity to experience their holidays in Australia and participate in many different things, including camping and seeing Australian wildlife.

Teaching and Learning

The school year at Frankton High School began with our staff undertaking Professional Learning surrounding the 2021 teaching and learning priorities of Goal Setting and Student Agency.  Teachers worked in Professional Learning Teams throughout the two days to enhance and build on the work done in these areas in 2020.  This time allowed teachers to collaborate and plan learning to provide our students with the best possible pedagogy heading into the new school year.

SLC Student Voice Team

On Thursday 28 January, we were joined by the SLC Student Voice Team who provided us with the student perspective regarding our teaching and learning focus areas.  They contributed insightful viewpoints about what learning means to them and approaches to learning that empower them as learners.  The key message they provided was the importance of providing a clear outline of the learning journey.  We would like to thank the following students Alex Hayes (Year 12), Tess Rogers (Year 12), Oliver Craig (Year 11), Sienna Longmuir (Year 10), Olivia Wright (Year 10) and Keenan Lawson (Year 8) for their contribution.
