Student Representative Council News
This Term the Student Representative Council is hosting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. This will be our main fundraising event for Term 2.
Did you know that 1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. We want to change that, and we need your help to do it. So, on the 14th of June we will be holding Ormond Primary School’s Biggest Morning Tea. We will celebrate this day by wearing yellow, bringing something yummy and having our morning tea all together on the oval, to show our support. We have currently raised, $367 of our $1,000 goal and we thank those who have donated.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend this morning tea. We ask that if you have any picnic blankets if you are able to bring them on the day so we can lay them out and enjoy some of the sunshine! Providing the weather is kind. Back up is that we will be hosting in classrooms and having inside picnics! We look forward to coming together as a community to support this cause.

The Ormond Primary Student Representative Council
Education Sub-Committee
Dear OPS Community,
What was that I heard you ask? "How can I get involved in making Ormond Primary School an even more engaging and stimulating place to learn and thrive?" So glad you asked! The Education Sub-Committee is where you can bring your passion for our school community, your skills in collaboration and your drive to make things happen instead of just talking about it. In 2023 our major focus will be:
- Developing an OPS Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
- Exploring how we can empower all members of the OPS community to be welcoming, inclusive and supportive of the Neurodivergent students who bring so much to our school.
- Developing learning opportunities for the wider community to engage with what happens in the classroom, such as showcasing the AMAZING work our students and teachers do. Our results are great, we need to celebrate this!!
We will be meeting on the Tuesday in the week before School Council at 6pm – 7pm in the conference room at OPS. The meeting dates are as follows:
- 13th June
- 11th July
- 8th August
- 5th September
- 10th October
- 7th November
- 5th December
If you are keen to be a part of this productive and vibrant committee, please respond to this email. I look forward to working with you this year.
