The Year 9 Business and Food Technology venture was a huge success yesterday. Year 9 BAE Students got to experience planning, cooking, marketing, presenting and serving their dishes to customers in the school community. We were treated to a wonderful array of dishes and cuisines including:

Beignet Bliss - France- cinnamon donuts with filling and ice cream.

Bold Burgers - USA- beef burgers and spider drink.

Konnichiwa - Japan- Karaage chicken, Ramune soda.

Mischievous Mexicans -Mexico- Nachos and churros

The Empress - China- fried rice and tanghulu.

Pasta Masters - Italy- spaghetti bolognaise and garlic bread.

Scrolls on a roll -  Sweden- chocolate scrolls, cinnamon scrolls, sour lolly bags.

Uni life

Secondary students recently attended the University of Queensland to see what Uni life is like. Our First Nations students discovered the opportunities available to them through higher education and the supports that they can access. A great day was had by all.

Peer Power Incursion

We were privileged to have recently hosted Michael Knight and his team from Peer Power to workshop with our Year 7 and 8 students on navigating online and ‘real life’ social relationships, and building a positive community through individual and group narrative work. It was definitely an illuminating and worthwhile experience.

Year 7-9 Vaping Information Session

In week 5 our Year 7 to 9 students participated in an information session on the dangers of vaping. With a focus on the toxic chemicals and addictive nature of vapes, the myth that they are not harmful was busted as students engaged with the content. For information on the dangers of vaping, please see the parent resource here.  Please take the time to look over this information and follow up with your children to check their understanding.
