Last week 42 students in grade 3-6 competed at the Southport District Cross Country event. All students represented Toorak Primary School with pride, giving their best efforts which saw some impressive results and personal bests. Congratulations to Isabella Schiavo (3rd), Amber Forbes (8th) and Ava Idzes (9th) in their top 10 finishes. Isabella and Amber qualified for Division yesterday with Isabella finishing 26th and Amber 40th.
This week in year 1-6 PE classes, we have had junior coaches from AFL Victoria visit our school to teach students the skills of Aussie Rules. Students have had fun putting these skills into practice.
On Friday 19th May, many students participated in National Walk to School Day. Parents, students and the Prahran police met at Sezana's on Toorak prior to walking as a group to school. Upon arriving at school, students were provided with a baked treat generously donated by Hawksburn Bakers Delight. To add to the fun, students were invited to decorate their school bag, wear colourful socks and apply a 'walk to school' tattoo provided by the Prahran Police.
This fortnight Year 2 has been making some amazing puppets to tell the stories of Ancient Greece. See if you can recognise these characters - Zeus, Athena, and Poseidon Hephaestus Hades and his 3 headed dog, Hera and Assorted. We look forward to performing with our puppets as our Ancient Greece Unit draws to a close.

Presbyterian Ladies College hosted an All-Girls' Chess Tournament last Thursday 25th May. Strong participation from schools including Presbyterian Ladies College, Lauriston Girls', Loreto and Glen Waverley Primary School made it a very competitive tournament.
Rupsy was the only participant from Toorak Primary as we could not have any other strong girl players. Rupsy won 6 out of her 7 games and was ranked 5th individual player out of the total 106 players.
Congratulations to our wristband nominations.
