Term 2 Production Update

The Performing Arts Rooms have been action packed this term with our Production Rehearsals well under way! Twice a week our talented cast have learnt choreography and blocking to keep up with this show’s incredible 80s playlist. It’s hard to pick a favourite in this show, when every song is a banger! We are well on the way to having an exciting show ready to share with the community on our Opening Night at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Thursday 3rd of August! With only two shows in our season, you’ll want to book your tickets nice and quickly because this show is ramping up to be quite the event.

What our cast have to say about the show so far

We have a fantastic group of students who make up the cast of our first production. They wanted to share some thoughts about the experience, so far!

So far, I've enjoyed every moment of the production. I like being able to share my excitement and joy of theatre, acting and music with others like me. My favourite part so far, has been the seemingly menial parts, like setting up. Getting the benches into the PA room and back to the gym, moving the rostrum blocks for us to practice our performances on. I'm excited to share this with the community as I love the production and I'd love more people to share the excitement and joy of this project!! – Indie J, 11.3, “Kirk”

Production has been one of the most enjoyable moments of year 7. The effort that all the cast and Ms Lentini have been putting into the musical is outstanding. Not only is the choreography stunning, but the acting and the passion that has been dedicated to the production just shows how much everyone is enjoying it. Can't wait to perform. I hope to see many people at the venue! - Millie W, 7.6, “Tiffany”

I've liked getting to know new people and seeing them around the school. My favourite part would be the footloose dance/scene. I'm excited to show everyone what we are able to do and to bring them back to the 80's! – Chloe L, 8.1, “Ensemble”

During production so far, I’ve loved being able to see how everyone’s character personalities grow and form into funny and stereotypical characters. My favourite part of the play so far has been, coming together to see how much we’ve done and how well we work together. I can’t wait for the community to see all the exciting scenes and songs that we’ve been working so hard to build and perfect. – Abbie M, 9.1, “Corey Jnr”

What I've liked so far about the production is that we can take all these ideas people think of and turn it into a reality. My favorite part so far is being able to make these funny scene and dances for the audience to enjoy. I'm so excited to share this with the community because we have an amazing team of people putting this show to life by having hidden secrets and details and everybody is just so sweet. – Jaxon L, 8.6, “Lionel”

I liked to getting started into acting and I have gotten to know new people and their personality. My favourite part so far is learning all the choreography and scenes I get to participate in. - Kim K, 7.6, “Ensemble”

What I have like about the production is that I get to be my true self and I get to act sing and dance and do my passion. It has been so fun acting in the production because I have made so many new friends and met so many great people. “Back to the 80’s” is going to be the best production at this school, yet! – Zara B, 10.6, “Miss Brannigan”

I have liked learning the choreography for the songs and practicing them. So far, my favourite part about the production has been the ability to connect with my peers and become closer with people I wouldn't normally interact with. I am excited to share this year's production with the community because I think that having something like a production will encourage students, staff and parents to be more involved with the school community. – Lauren C, 9.1, “Eileen”

I enjoyed making friends and dancing with everyone. I am excited to share this with the community because we get to show off our hard work! – Ruby K, 8.1, “Ensemble”
