This term our Year 6’s will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and it was wonderful to see many candidates and their parents at the Confirmation Session during the week.
Please pray for these young people this term and pray for a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit in all our hearts.
Holy Spirit Prayer of Saint Augustine(354-430)
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit,
That my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit,
That my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit,
That I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit,
To defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit,
That I always may be holy.
Amen
Term three has started off with such a hive of activity. We have had excursion and incursions and students engaged in our new History focussed Inquiry Learning. Make sure you ask your children what their Big Question is for this term. If you have any old objects from the past that you wouldn’t mind giving to your child’s classroom to help out children explore thepast, please do so. Also, make sure you talk about the past with your children as well.
Here are some upcoming religious feasts and dates for your diaries.

We have a beautiful Prayer Wall situated in our staffroom at SoGS. As a staff, we believe in the power of prayer so we decided to create a communal space where we can write our own prayers and also, pray for each other’s intentions.
I love the quote, “Have you prayed about it as much as you have talked about it?” Often, we have problems and we talk and talk to other people but we forget to go to God with our needs. We have cards and pens set up so anyone can write an intention at any time.
Perhaps this is something you might try with your family at home? A prayer box or a prayer book could be some alternative ways to foster praying together as a family.
Please feel free to contact me ant anytime! Take care and God bless!
