Keeping it Kinross
We would like to Acknowledge the Wiradjuri People, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we have worked to create this publication. We Acknowledge that Australia always was and always will be Aboriginal Land and pay respect to the local Aboriginal Land on which our audience are accessing this news.
Reconciliation Week: Be a Voice for Future Generations
We are proud to be living, learning and working on Wiradjuri Land. This week, we are extra proud to be using this platform to help acknowledge and celebrate local Wiradjuri Culture and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures.
For us, Reconciliation Week is an important time to reflect on the past, promote understanding, and work towards healing the divisions present within Australia. As we look to the future, it is crucial that we continue to be a voice for future generations, advocating for justice, equality, and respect.
To be a voice for future generations during Reconciliation Week, we challenge everyone to listen to and learn from local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures, share in cultural knowledge, be a voice of support, an advocate for action and as a result, a maker of change.
We need to also remember, being a voice for future generations goes beyond Reconciliation Week. It requires ongoing commitment, education, and action. We can all help shape a better tomorrow. Let’s show bravery and be a voice for change.
Behind the Scenes
Over the past few weeks, we have been busy behind the scenes working with a variety of multi-media forms to build our skills and deliver you content from around the grounds at Kinross Wolaroi School.
Enjoy a snapshot of behind the scenes below.
Lunchtime Clubs
This Semester in the Junior School, there has been an increase in lunchtime clubs as the weather gets cooler.
From Media Team with Mr Barrett, to Minecraft with Mrs Fatai. Gardening with Ms Dawson to chess with Mrs Church. Mindful Mondays and Wellbeing Wednesdays with Mrs Milliken and Mrs Byrne and debating with Ms. Morris, there is a range of activities keeping us busy.
As we keep up with these activities and you ‘keep up with Kinross!...’, we hope to also share some BTS action from our friends within other clubs.

Home Among the Gumtrees: Star Sign Readings with KWS Roo
After times of contemplating in the cold, This winter with Roo Readings I am going to be bold. If your star sign character is not of your choosing, I suggest you just ‘Let it Go’!
With winter here, I have drawn inspiration for star sign readings from characters out of the movie ‘Frozen’.
