Cross Country
On Tuesday we had 2 students represent Galilee in the Beachside Cross Country at Bald Hill Park. A terrific achievement to get here and then their results were amazing!
Below is a recap that they have written about their individual race. Well done to Ella and Zac.
It was minute before we started, my heart was racing and I was getting nervous. Then the instructor called "On your marks, get set, go!" And we were off. I was pacing myself and sticking to my race strategy - which was to run the first km hard and then the second km harder and then the third km like crazy. For all the runners who haven't ran the course before it's 100% grass and 75% hills but luckily for me I have already ran it before so I knew the course and knew how to pace myself. Before I knew it, I was zooming in, coming around the final corner and up to the finish line. I was exhausted. I had run a 3km race at my hardest efforts and came 16th out of 42. Before I end this report, I would like to congratulate Ella for her efforts (keep training Ella and you’ll do even better for the years to come), and thank you Mr. Greene Jason and Jess (Ella's parents) for coming along supporting and us. This was my last cross country run for Galilee, but not my last race #keeprunning and when you don't think you can run anymore #runlikecrazy.
