The conclusion of an unforgettable year…!!!

2021 has been another extraordinary year in the life of our school community. As this year concludes, I especially want to pass on my best wishes to the grade six students who are finishing up at BHPS and are embarking upon the next stage in their life's journey. This final chapter of primary school has not been what anyone would have wished for you. However, in many respects it will have prepared you for the future in ways that cannot be determined or fully understood at this stage. Embrace the opportunities and challenges that life will present you with and continue to be flexible, as you have had to be throughout this year.

As all the staff, students and school families look forward to closing the chapter on another unforgettable year, we also look forward to occasions of celebration and times of relaxation during the coming weeks.

Whether this time is celebrated because of the birth of Jesus or because it is a special opportunity to spend time with family and friends or both, it is that time of the year when traditionally many people send wishes of joy, happiness and peace to one another. It is a time of goodwill, when family and friends come together for a meal and to exchange gifts.

In addition, the summer holiday period presents an opportunity for family members to

meaningfully connect in other ways.  Some suggestions are:

  • Snuggling up to read stories together or to share tales from days gone by.
  • Lots of reassuring hugs and kisses.
  • Spending one-on-one quality time together.
  • Facilitating lots of outdoors activities.
  • Sharing musical interests.
  • Cooking together.
  • Spending time in nature and employing good observation skills.
  • Providing a comfortable and safe place to reflect and recharge.
  • Ensuring there are loving boundaries and thereby security.

It is my hope and desire that each and every one of you have a well-earned and wonderful time of relaxation, refreshment and rejuvenation.

With best wishes from me and my family to yours for a happy Christmas and safe New Year.
