Week 7 Β Term 4
We've been very busy back in the art room!
Β
Β
The students have been working really hard to get their production of Shrek Jnr up to scratch and ready for the 6th and 8th of December. Rehearsals were held on the basketball court each day last week and the show is starting to take shape. We still need the students to continue practising their dialogue, songs and dances on Showbie, so that we can spend more time polishing the show rather than learning from scratch at this stage.Β
Β
We have hired costumes for the grades 5 & 6βs and will commence fitting them in the next couple of weeks. These will be kept at school and taken to the theatre ready for the students to wear on the 6th and 8th of December.Β
Β
Just a reminder that the grade 3 and 4 students will need to source their own fairytale or Shrek outfit to wear for their performances. Keep it simple. You may already have something at home that your child can wear. We definitely donβt want you to spend a fortune on these costumes. Mrs Kearton will be making some Shrek headbands and crowns/tiaras with the students in art classes if they would like to wear these. Grade 3 and 4 students will wear their costumes to school on Monday the 6th and Wednesday the 8th of December and keep them on for the day.Β
Β
And a final reminder that we will be rehearsing then video recording the show on Monday the 6th and Wednesday the 8th of December during the day at the Karralyka Theatre in Ringwood. It is anticipated that a widestream performance will then be available for all families as part of the production levy before the end of the school year.Β Tickets will be available for families (adults only) of Grade 5/6 students to watch the widestream recording session at Karralyka Theatre on Tuesday, December 7th during the day (time to be confirmed).Β Tickets will be available on Trybooking.Β Details will follow shortly.
Β
We are very excited to be able to continue preparing Shrek with your children. Thank you for your support and donβt hesitate to contact the WPPS office if you have any queries.

We're all so excited to be back on site getting active again. It's been great to see so many people walking and riding to and from school each day. A reminder if you're riding, please make sure you walk your bike through the school grounds.Β
We had a mammoth turn out of students attending Walk to School - Crazy Sock Day. It was a great celebration of the new supervised crossing on Yarra Road whilst being able to raise money for the Grade 6 Graduation.Β
We hope many families will continue to utilise this service to safely walk to school, especially when the weather is nice! Β Just a reminder that the Walk To School club operates on a Monday morning from 8:15am at the Wonga Park Hall.Β

THANK YOU to Wonga garden and building supplies
It's delightful when someone like Ben Thompson from Wonga Garden and building supplies, (an ex-student) was so obliging to donate soil, scoria, and pea straw to be used for our newly built Vegetable garden beds. If any of our school community is planning to purchase garden supplies in the future, keep it in mind, it's great to support our local community that support WPPS.Β
