rEvent Adjustments
With the events of the past few weeks, the impact on families and the uncertainty prevalent in our community we have taken the decision to adjust some of the events we had planned leading up to the end of the year.
So under advice, our event planning moving forward will look like this:
- Year 6 Graduation:Will go ahead tonight as planned with some additional tweaks and COVIDSafe practices. Year 6 families have been notified and we still hope this proves a special occasion for our children.
- End of Year Mass: Our whole school Mass scheduled for tomorrow will be cancelled.
- Advent Paraliturgies: Will proceed as scheduled but will be held outside with attendance limited to students and staff
- Step-Up Day: Will be flipped to a Step-In Day. Rather than children moving to new learning areas to meet their new teacher and classmates, they will stay put and our teachers will visit them in their existing learning areas. While the children won't get to meet all their new classmates, they will get to spend time with their teacher for 2022.
- Christmas Dance Party: Unfortunately (like most schools) we will be canceling our much-anticipated End of Year Christmas Picnic & Dance Party. Should a COVID positive case arise from the event it will cause havoc with families Christmas plans. It just wouldn't be wise to proceed.
- End of Year Raffle: Will be drawn after our Advent Paraliturgy on the last day of school just prior to pick-up time at around 12:40pm. Gates will be open for parents to come and watch provided masks are worn and social distancing is adhered to.
Christmas Raffle
As you have just read, our Christmas Raffle will be drawn on Wednesday 15th December at 12:40pm which gives you more time to buy tickets!
Each family has already received a set of ten (10) raffle tickets and extra tickets can be purchased through the office.
There are some fantastic prizes to be won and tickets are only $1.00 each!
Our major prize is a Samson Transcend Mountain bike. I picked this up last night and it is a beauty!
The bike features an adjustable and also lockable front suspension fork as well as Shimano disc brakes, full Shimano gearing and the benefit of 27.5 wheels to guarantee total control when the road gets rough. A full aluminium frame and aluminium components help drop the weight and the addition of rear rack mounts give the rider options to use the bike as a comfortable tourer if desired. It also comes complete with the coolest helmet .
Other prizes include a Tahwalhi T3 Scooter (includes helmet),
and 4 x $50 gift vouchers from stores such as Rebel Sport, Bunnings, Smiggles/Typo and JB Hi Fi. There is something for everyone.
Tickets (and money) need to be returned to the school office by 9:00am, Wednesday 15th December (don't forget to write your name on them) .
For families who may not be able to get to school you can purchase your ticket over the phone with your credit card. There really is no reason why you can not be in it to win it.
ABC Music
Please find below the links for our ABC Music Group Guitar and Keyboard 2021 concerts!
All the students did such a wonderful job, both Cleo and Megan hope you all enjoy these performances, as the students worked so hard on them.
A huge thank you to Megan and Cleo for the wonderful work they did with our children battling through Lockdown. We love our ABC Music teachers and hope they will join us again next year.
Staffing Finalisation
Miss Aphrodite Loizou has just been appointed as our second Year 5/6 teacher for 2022. Aphrodite is currently teaching at Stella Maris in Point Cook and will be visiting us for our Step-In Day next Monday and is excited to be joining us.
That completes the staffing picture for 2022.
Fees and Levies
Thank you to all families who have finalised Fees and Levies for 2022. These needed to be finalised by last week (unless you have set up a payment plan) so outstanding accounts need to be promptly finalised.
Statements will be forwarded to families who have outstanding accounts.
To assist with family budgets moving forward, please see below our fee and levy schedule for 2022:

Reports and Portfolios
Repots and Portfolios will be distributed to families in the coming days which we hope will highlight your child's achievement across the year.
Please take the time at some stage during the busyness of the present, to celebrate with your child their achievements. The Portfolios are yours as a keepsake so that hopefully you can build up a picture of your child's success in the years to come.
Almost There
What a year it has been! Battling COVID-19, vaccinations, students and staff in isolation, lockdowns, re-scheduling events, juggling staff, fallen trees, destroyed shade sails, burst pipes, blocked plumbing, floods and that's just the past few weeks!
As the year draws to a close, and with this being the final Newsletter for the year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the life of Corpus Christi in 2021:
- To Father John, for his leadership of the parish community of which the school forms an important part.
- Thank you to all our staff, whose efforts often go unrewarded. I am grateful for each and every one of them. I am proud of their resilience and adaptability through a challenging year in and out of lockdown and acknowledge all their achievements as they continue to learn and grow in their profession.
- To all parents... I said it last year and I will say it again... it has been a year like no other and you have been fundamental to your child's learning! You have been instrumental in supporting and helping each other when it was needed. Thank you for your support, your understanding, and patience .
- To all the children of Corpus Christi. You have learned so much more than you could have imagined. Besides the normal curriculum, you have had to be resourceful, flexible, innovative and resilient. You should be proud of your achievements.
- To our Graduating Year Six children. Your senior years have been far from what you would have been anticipating. You were 'hard done by' but you battled through and have continued to be role models to all.
And finally, thank you to everyone in our beautiful community for the support of our school. We could not have got through the past two years as smoothly as we have without your support and understanding. I would like to wish each and every one of you a very safe and happy holiday. May the Christmas season fill your home with joy, your heart with love and your life with laughter and good health.
Have a wonderful holiday break
God bless
