From the Principal
This time last year we farewelled year 7 students. Last week was a historic first where we had graduating Year 6 and Year 7 students. Both graduations were a success with photos and award winners shared in this newsletter. We wish both cohorts all the best as they begin their journey in High School.
Last week we also needed to say goodbye to some staff members who are taking on different roles next year: Chris Burdett, Jenna Panezzo, Marcus Davies, Sarah Colwell, Marcia and Leanne. The students did a special farewell and thanks to Chris Burdett who has been at Para Vista for 20 years and has even taught parents of current students! We thank him for his contribution to Para Vista over the years and wish him all the best at his new school.
In week 8 our Year 1 to 6 students had a visit to their new learning space and so are starting to get prepared for their next year level. While change can cause some anxiety at first staff work very effectively to make this change as smooth and stress free as they can for students.
At the other end of the age range we have also been farewelling our Preschool children as they prepare to start Reception, with many of them joining the Hive in 2021 to continue their learning journey at Para Vista Primary School.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy holidays. I look forward to welcoming you all back in 2022,
Melissa Mills
