Public Speaking and Debating

On Monday, the 21st of November, there will be a Debating and Public Speaking showcase at 5:30pm –6:45pm in M6/M7. This will be a great opportunity to congratulate and highlight the amazing achievement of all those who have participated in the Debating and Public Speaking program this year.

Over the course of the year, students have participated in a range of activities, such as representing Staughton College at public speaking events and Debating Association Victoria (DAV) competitions. Students have engaged in teacher vs. student debates and held debating workshops at local primary schools. Students should be proud of the hours they have dedicated researching and preparing for competitions this year.

This showcase is a great way to acknowledge the students contributions and achievements throughout the year. All students who have been involved in the DAV program will be receiving an award on the night, as well as there will be special awards handed out to those who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in both debating and public speaking.

The night will have some entertainment in the form of speeches and debates presented by the students. After the presentations, please feel free to join us for some nibbles to end the night.

Please ensure that your child is in full school uniform for photographic purposes.
