Last Friday we celebrated the start of the school year with a wonderful Mass in the School Hall, celebrated by Father Paul, and the induction of our leaders for 2016.  Congratulations to our Secondary Leaders Gemma Mihill, Royce Carroll, Isabelle Brazel and Paddy Montgomery.

On Tuesday this week Year 10 attended the Parish Lenten Mission conducted by Bruce Downes ‘The Catholic Guy’.  This was an opportunity for our students to reflect on their relationship with God through music and the arts.

Teachers and parents had the opportunity this week to learn about the Google suite of apps and how they can be a positive and worthwhile addition to the learning environment.  The topic of cyber safety was also considered with some valuable advice on how to keep our young people safe in the virtual world.  It was wonderful to see so many parents come along to what was a valuable experience.

This coming Tuesday evening is an important night for Year 10 as they receive the Assessment Handbook in preparation for the Record of School Achievement. The information evening for Year 10 will start at 6.00 pm.  This will be followed by informal Parent/Teacher/Student meetings for all Year 7 and any families that are new to the school from 6.30 pm in the School Hall.
