Principal's Report

Thoughts from our Principal - Ms Maria Mowle

Dear Parents

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of the following countries.

I would urge you to be mindful of the effects of the COVID-19 Virus on many overseas Countries such as India, the Philippines, and Nepal, not to mention many others, where it continues to cause havoc and despair.

Yesterday the news stated  ...that the live update from India reported 311,170 new positive cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours taking the total tally of Covid-19 infections to 2,46,84,077, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday. Country's death toll rose to 270,284 with 4,077 new fatalities.

This article stated that:

Coronavirus cases rise unabated across the globe, with more than 163.16 million infected by the deadly contagion. While 141,459,424 have recovered, 3,383,005 have died so far. The US remains the worst-hit country with 33,695,883, followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey.

The Armidale Diocese has a special relationship with the missionary congregations of the La Sallette missionary Fathers in the Philippines and the Rogationist Missionary Fathers in India. Many of the priests in the Diocese come from these orders.

So today I ask you to please pray the prayer below for all affected by COVID-19.

COVID19 Prayer

Heavenly Father, you are the loving God of all the nation's and people's on this earth.

Please look with mercy and compassion on all you have created.

Deliver us, we pray, from the coronavirus and limit its impact on our global world.

We pray especially at this time for all the nations devastated by this virus.

Heal and comfort those who are sick and suffering.

Protect and guide the health professionals who are at the Frontline.

We ask that wisdom and courage be given to those who bear responsibility for confronting this challenge. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
