A Message from Cam...

Camps

A very exciting and authentic part of our school curriculum is our camping program. In early August our Grade 4/5 students will attend Camp Oasis for a two night camp and at the end of August our Grade 6 students will visit Canberra for five days. These camps provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to challenge themselves in many ways in a supported and safe environment.  Thank you to those parents who have paid the deposit for these camps. As communicated previously, if you would like to discuss a payment plan, please see David as soon as possible.

Planning Week

Next week is the last week of the term (what a term!) and as per our regular school planning cycle, the teachers from each Grade level will have one day where they will begin to plan out the Term 3 teaching & learning program. The students will still have their Specialist subjects, with the difference being that they will have all of the Specialists on one day:

Monday          No Specialists as the Specialist teachers have their planning day

Tuesday         Grade 2/3

Wednesday   Prep & Grade 6

Thursday       Grade 4/5

Friday             Grade 1

Reconciliation Week  27th May - 3rd June

Reconciliation Week acknowledges very important dates in Australia's history. It starts on the 27th of May, which is the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum, when 90 percent of Aussies voted to change the constitution to make sure Indigenous people were counted as Australian citizens. It ends on the 3rd of June, also known as Mabo Day. It marks the day, Meriam man, Eddie Mabo successfully convinced the High Court of Australia that Indigenous people had rights to land their ancestors had lived on for 1000's of years.

Wishing everyone a safe holiday period and looking forward to a wonderful Term 3.

Go Blues!

Take Care All,

Cam
