Principal’s Message

Mr Nick Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we are celebrating Catholic Schools Week. The theme for CSW in 2021 is "Faith in the Future." Today, Mrs Howarth and I travelled to Armidale together with Tom and Hallie to represent our school at the Diocesan Mass and Awards Ceremony. This Mass also doubled as the official diocesan launch of 200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia celebrations. Due to our very busy schedule this week, we are pushing our celebrations back a week and inviting all parents, families and friends to our Eisteddfod Concert next Wednesday 2 June at 11.30am. This will be a wonderful chance to showcase the amazing talents of our students and a second opportunity to view the acts if you are not able to attend the Eisteddfod this week.

This Thursday is our excursion to Gunnedah to perform in the Gunnedah Eisteddfod. We have four groups performing throughout the day; our three small group performances Session 1:(Year 3 girls, Year 4/5/6 girls and Year 3/4/5/6 boys) Session 2: our school choir (students in Year 1 to Year 6). All students in K-2 need to come to school dressed in full winter uniform including ties and tights for girls. The students in small group performances are asked to come to school in their costumes with their full winter uniform packed neatly in their bag to get changed into after their small group performances. Lunch is provided as a part of the excursion, however students will need their water bottle, fruit and a snack packed from home. Please ensure your child has returned their permission note and $10. These were due on Friday and must be returned in order to attend the excursion. If your child has lost their note, please contact the office for a replacement.

A special mention to Georgia Baird (11) Elsie Groves (6) who both celebrate their birthdays tomorrow, 25th May. We hope you enjoy your special day!

Have a great week!

Nick
