Matthew 13:24-30

In this Gospel, Jesus told the crowds a parable, as he often did about grains of wheat and weeds. Through the use of symbols and metaphors Jesus asks his Disciples questions… ‘Did I sow good seed in my family, in my place of work, in my community’. Scripture often has many meanings for us and speaks to us in individual ways. This same spirit enlightens us and helps us to interpret the teachings of Jesus. To be receptive, to question and to remind us that the Spirit of God dwells in us all.

Prayer

Gracious God,

Teach us to treasure our days,

That we may gain wisdom of heart.

Help us to focus on things that matter,

To wisely use the time we have.

The time we have is precious,

Teach us to treasure our days.

Fill us & this day with kindness,

That we may rejoice all the days of our life.

May we grow in faith and love,

Always trusting in God,
