What's happening in the 1/2 rooms?

In the Year 1/2 classes, we have been learning about shapes:

• Identifying shapes by the number of sides and vertices
• Transformations (flip, side and turn)
• Symmetry
• Area

This unit of work has been a great opportunity to be creative and produce artwork that shows off our maths learning!

Dans le cadre de l’unité de de maths sur les formes géométriques, nous avons étudié les caractéristiques de chaque forme, et le vocabulaire français associé : cercle, triangle, rectangle, carré, losange, côtés, sommets.

Nous avons appris à les reconnaître. Nous avons ensuite créé des mini fresques à la manière de Auguste Herbelin, puis laissé notre imagination vagabonder pour imaginer, des robots, des créatures et des paysages !

What's happening in STEM?

“Ahoy Scientists!This week in STEM the Prep/1/2s have been investigating magnetic fields; attraction and repelling with magnets. As you can see, some students were even defying gravity, while others were racing paperclips around the track. The 5/6s were drawing their own circuits using Makeymakeys and the graphite from pencils to complete a circuit.
