Student Wellbeing

St John Vianney has received a grant for $14000 to participate in The Resilience Project in 2024. We were one of six schools chosen to be part of a Mulgrave/Wheelers Hill Cluster, supported through Mirvac Homes. This is very exciting for our school and will enhance our Student Well being program and give families and teaching staff extra resources to use to support the students at SJV.

The Resilience Project is a  whole school wellbeing program that teaches and supports positive mental health in the classroom, staffroom and wider community. The program is emotionally engaging, practical, proven to have impact through evidence based evaluations, and is delivered in over 1000 schools.

The mental health statistics in this country are confronting. The mission of the Resilience Project is to teach positive mental health strategies to help people become happier and more resilient.

They share emotionally engaging stories with hundreds of schools, workplaces and communities to help make the topic of mental health more accessible. The research is clear; the more positive emotion you experience, the more resilient you will be. For that reason they focus on three key pillars proven to cultivate positive emotion; Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM). Our programs also have a strong focus on Connection, Purpose, Kindness, Emotional Literacy and Physical Health.
