Year 7

Magazine Articles

Assessment Overview:

A key focus of this unit was literacy development. Students were grouped and assigned a tourist area such as the Murray River and Snowfields of NSW and Victoria.  The student’s main focal emphasis was formatting text, design page layout, and use of images and graphics in their article.

Each student’s group will form a tourist attraction magazine for the Riverina.

Students generated and communicated the development of design ideas, plans and processes for various audiences using appropriate technical terms and technologies including graphical representation techniques.

Several lessons were spent experimenting with different design layouts and formats.

Groups evaluated the effectiveness and suitability of choices made during the development and production of their solutions.

Congratulations to my classes for their most professional approach to the design brief and for their finished tourist magazines…….I know each student has felt a real sense of achievement with the formal printing of their magazine !
