Nights of Take Home Reading

At Albanvale Primary School, we are very excited as we continue to see the amazing dedication and enthusiasm that our young readers have shown. The commitment to reading displayed by our students is something that has seen a great improvement this year, and we couldn't be happier to see them excited about the power of books.

We are thrilled to announce that some of our students have reached an incredible milestone – 100 nights of reading! This achievement is evidence of their passion for learning and the joy they find in reading. It is through their determination and hard work that they have achieved this extraordinary accomplishment, and we congratulate them for setting such a fantastic example for all students.

To every parent, we fully understand that you play a large part in ensuring that your children read each night and we are very gratitude for your ongoing support. We ask that you continue to help them in their reading and encourage them to read on the weekends. Reading each night not only improves their literacy skills but also sparks creativity, expands their vocabulary. By making reading a part of their daily routine, we can build in them a lifelong love for learning and ensure they become confident, successful learners.

As a part of our drive to help students in their Nights of Reading, Albanvale Primary School is running a class competition to see which class can achieve the most nights of reading throughout the term. Albanvale PS would like to congratulate the following classes for having the highest percentage of nights read for the term so far:

1st- 5/6A, with a percentage of 57.4%

2nd- Prep B, with a percentage of 53.7%

3rd- 3/4B, with a percentage of 52.2%

As you can see, the percentages are very close and every night of reading counts to improve their classes overall percentage. Let’s work together to get every class reading every night.

Happy reading!

Mr. Taylor
