Firstly, a big congratulations to Beth Pert who has been selected to perform at Top Class Dance in 2022! Beth completed Units 3 & 4 dance in 2021 and will be performing as part of the VCE season of excellence. Top Class showcases works by the most outstanding VCE performing arts students from across the state.

In VCE dance students choreograph and perform two solos to a panel of assessors. A skills-based solo that showcases their dance technique and a cohesive composition solo that involves students communicating an idea or concept through movement. Beth has been selected to perform both of her solos, ‘Prodigy’ and ‘Mould’ at Top Class, an incredible achievement!

Congratulations Beth and good luck for your performance!

FROM THE NEW 2022 DANCE CAPTAINS!

Hi MGC,

We are your Dance Captains for 2022!

2022 is an exciting year for dance at MGC, and we are hoping we will be able to make up for the last few years we have lost to covid!

In week 4 co-curricular dance is starting back up. It has been really exciting to see so much interest and so many new faces who will be a part of dance at MGC!

On the 4th of March the pedal power cinema will be on for this year, and it would be great to have some dancers performing, to represent dance at MGC. (you will need to feel comfortable dancing on grass). Harmony Day this year is on the 21st of March- we would love it if you would like to showcase a dance or dance style from your culture or background! If you are interested, please get in touch with one of us!

Semester 1 Dance Night will be held at MLC on the 20th of May! This is an opportunity for those participating in co-curricular dance, as well as those doing dance as an elective or a VCE subject to showcase the things that they have been working on throughout the year!

We are looking forward to a great year of dance!
