From the Principal

Thank you to the Class of 2021

To our Class of 2021, congratulations on the completion of 13 years of schooling.  The last two years of COVID-19 and resulting periods of remote learning have tested your resilience like no other time and you have been excellent students.  As the first cohort of Year 12 students in my time as Principal at Frankston High School, I hold your efforts this year in high regard and am so proud of each and every one of you.

I would like to thank our School Captains: Tess Rogers and Noah Oliver, along with our Deputy Captains: Bella Bailey and Alex Hayes for their work and leadership with other student leaders and being great role models for all of the student population.  I would also like to thank all of you involved in SLC (Student Leadership Council), Sports Leadership, Interact Club and our Eco Team. You have all continued to play a pivotal role in working with our student cohort and staff in further improving our great school.

As we draw to a close on your time learning with us at Frankston High School, I wish you all the best for your upcoming examinations.  Now is the time for your best effort!  Now is the time to demonstrate persistence and maintain optimism.  Feel confident that with your best effort you will succeed.  Your teachers and your efforts thus far have you ready for these assessments. Optima Semper!

I look forward to welcoming you back as alumni of this great school to share your journey with us.  We will continue to support and do everything we can to help you and please know that we will always be here for you.

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends

It has been fantastic to welcome our Units 3 and 4 students back onsite for classes from Wednesday 6 October (following the GAT on Tuesday 5 October).  There was a great deal of excitement from our staff and students with their return, with some fantastic decorations and a huge inflatable gorilla to put a smile on our students’ faces.

Thank you to Ms Wilson, Ms Caminiti, Mr Treyvaud and the Senior School Team for their efforts organising a safe return and making it extra special for our students.

GAT (General Achievement Test)

Thank you to Ms Wilson, Ms Caminiti and Mr Treyvaud in organising the successful implementation of the GAT for our large cohort of Year 12 students.  With the health guidelines from VCAA (Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority), this was a huge logistical exercise with many rooms required to maintain physical distancing and that everyone was in the right place at the right time.  Our students were exceptional in their behaviour and attendance was excellent due to the high expectations we maintain.

Term 4 – Return to onsite learning

As communicated previously via Compass to students and parents, we look forward to safely welcoming back students in Years 7 to 11 to onsite learning over the coming weeks.  We will focus on reconnecting students with their teachers, peers and the school during this time.  Student and staff health and wellbeing will continue to be a priority as students make this transition back into classrooms.

School Review – Derinya Primary School

Towards the end of last term, I had the pleasure to be involved as a challenge partner in the School Review at Derinya Primary School.  This was a great experience in being involved with one of our key feeder primary schools through this process.  Congratulations to their entire school community, led by their Principal, Mrs Nadine Pye, and her Leadership Team

Traffic Reminder

Once we are back onsite, a reminder for all parents/carers to not park across our neighbour’s driveways and show courtesy to each other and to the school’s adjoining residences.  We appreciate that the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up time is busier in and around our campuses, please continue to adhere to all road rules.
