Principal's Message

Dear Parents, students and the wider community,
Well... goodbye Mrs Trickey after nearly 18 years here and her dog Bridie who has come to school for the past 14 years. It was a beautiful on-line farewell from our community to Brenda and I thank everyone for their efforts. I wish to especially thank Mrs Carr for compiling all the beautiful notes into a video we could all watch together. Mrs Trickey, may your retirement full of fun and laughter which is what we will miss in our office. A sad day for us but a happy and sad day for you Mrs Trickey. Mrs Wain certainly has big boots to fill!
As Mrs Trickey's parents migrated to Australia from Ireland I shared the Irish Blessing during her farewell. Perhaps as you read it you might add your prayers to a wonderful future for Brenda.
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Next week some of the students start to return in class levels. Please note that the students are welcome in the yard from 8.30am. They will move inside at 8.50am. The classes who are rostered on will go straight to their classrooms. The students who are here because they are required to be due to essential work or other criteria, as previously advised, will go in through the sliding doors in the new block and begin their day in the Italian/Music room. Masks are required to be warn inside by our Year 3-6 students from the Victorian Health authorities and are also recommended for the junior students.
At this stage parents are allowed outside on-site at drop off and pick up but please adhere to the usual Covid safe practices. I look forward to seeing you all face-to-face.

All students return to on-site schooling Friday 5th November
A reminder that with the partial return of classes from Week 3, Monday 18th October all students on-site are to be in full uniform. As we are a Sunsmart school sunhats are required for students this term please. I also imagine with increasing humidity and warmth that mosquitos will be about quite a bit. Please ensure you apply repellent before the day. With school required to have increased airflow there will be more windows open allowing for more of them to also be inside.
Please note Monday 1st November is a School Closure Day for Reporting and Tuesday 2nd November is Melbourne Cup Day.
We are having a lot of interest from families wanting to go on tours to potentially join our school. Obviously I can't take tours at this stage. Equally some of our current families may have changed family circumstances and will be looking to move on from St Anne's at the end of the year. Can you please let me know if it is likely your family will be moving on as we will soon be looking at classroom allocation of students for 2022.
God Bless You All
