Summer Sport - Return to Play

It is very exciting that in the next couple of weeks the College will welcome back all students on site for face-to-face learning.

This ever-changing COVID-19 situation proves to be extremely dynamic. As such, decisions in relation to SPC Sport, both external and internal, are continually being assessed and modified.

In accordance with the NSW Government Public Health Orders, the College will be operating under Level 3 Plus restrictions and the return of sport cannot recommence until the state hits the 80% double dose vaccination milestone, at which point the College will hopefully operate under Level 2 restrictions.

What does this mean for our Summer Sports Season?

The College will continue to be guided by the NSW Government, the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Independent Schools Association (ISA). I remind the community that all relevant information will be distributed to families regarding SPC Sport in due course.

In the meantime, with limited facilities due to the construction work on the outside courts and the gymnasium being used for the HSC Examinations, we have planned for the Summer Sport Season to commence trials in Week 6 of this term. This is clearly dependant on the College being placed under Level 2 conditions.

At this time, I would like to sincerely thank Ms Gillian Daley and Ms Chadia El Edelbi for their work over past seasons as MIC of their respective sport. They have done an outstanding job but now pass the batons into the capable hands of the newly appointed MIC Cricket, Mr David Dunne and MIC Basketball, Ms Constance Apostolou. We congratulate both David and Constance on their appointments and wish them, along with Mrs Felicity Warsop (MIC Baseball/Softball) and Mr Andrew Brennan (MIC Swimming), all the best with managing the summer sports this season.
