Australian Mathematics Competition

Before remote learning we were fortunate enough to fit in the Australian Mathematics Competition. Students who obtained distinctions (top 20 % in their year level) and therefore the top performers in the school were:

Year 7

Leah Ross, Zach Butler, Jack Coulter and Jairam Giri.

Year 8

Remee Simmons.

Year 10

Eliza Wallace and Sarah Fellows.

Year 11

Willow May and Todd McGinley.

Top performer in Year 9 was Stella Edmonston with a Credit award.

Special mention must go to Eliza Wallace, who after years of trying finally broke through with our first High Distinction award in years. This places Eliza in the top 2% of her year level across the region.

The “so close” award goes to Willow May who was in the top 5% and agonisingly close to a High Distinction. The senior paper is notoriously the most difficult.

Certificates will be available soon and I’ll email students once they arrive. Students who wish to have a finer breakdown of their results can see me in the Sheehan Wing or email me.

Congratulations to all those who participated.

Steven Pompe
