Year Six Netball Report

Friday 26th July saw the NPS Year Six netball team play an interesting game against the Year Six Cobram PS netball team, at the NPS courts.

Some of the highlights of this game were that, everyone worked as a team and players helped and encouraged each other. The students who organised our positions did a great job as we got put in positions which were just right for us.

The scores at the end of the game were 21 to 6 our way. We were very excited to have won this game.

In conclusion, I thought this was a very successful and very tiring game.

Netball Report Year 5-6 NPS Smashers

On the 26th July the Year 5/6 NPS Smashers stepped onto the Numurkah PS netball courts. We were ready to win. When the Cobram players got off the bus, we thought we would be in for a hard game because they were so tall.

All the NPS players worked hard and showed great catching and throwing skills during this game. It was also good to hear all our players supporting and encouraging each other.

Best on court were Bridget Brown, Shaye Bowen, Tessa Warrin, Lily Patrick-Oudeman and Breanna Inglis-Goodlife.

At the end of the game the scores were 28 to 4 our way.

We were so excited to have just won our first game. We had an awesome game and we were exhausted too!

Football Report

Was a beautiful day the sun was shining the birds were chirping, the grass was still dewy and there were barely any clouds in the sky. It was Friday 26th July, a great day for the NPS Football Team to play a game of footy against the Cobram PS team.

The NPS team got their football boots on and kicked the ball around and practised their hand passes, they did a little run/jog to the goal posts then they did some stretches, which were organised by Darby Salter.

Following are some snap shots of the game.

BEEP! The siren indicated that the game had begun. Bayden Parkinson won the first tap out Jorjiah Moody grabbed the ball and kicked the ball down… the opposition marked it; they kicked the ball down to their fifty line where Christopher Bodsworth sped through everyone, grabbed the ball and booted it down to Darby Salter; he leaped off the ground and marked the ball right in front of the goals. Yay! Darby Salter kicked the first goal of the match!

FWEET! The whistle blew Tyson Hill was in the ruck; he won the ball, then Adam Kennedy kicked the ball to Darby Salter who kicked another goal!

Congratulations to all NPS players for supporting each other and showing great skills during this game. The best on field were Adam Kennedy, Tyson Hill, Aiden Woolley and Christopher Bodsworth.

The final scores were: NPS 8 goals 5 points to Cobram 3 goals. A super win for the NPS team!

1st Year 6 Transition Day

After an early lunch on the 5th August, the NPS Year 6 students were seen trudging over to the daunting Numurkah Secondary College, where they thought doom awaited!

But there was no doom, just fun! When we walked through the double, double doors (there were two double doors) we arrived in the hall, and found out that we were doing a science and a dance session.

My highlight was probably the science Hot & Cold experiment. It made me confused but was also pretty satisfying. It was not that messy… just kidding, the carpet was drenched with water.

My first session was science and that was fun. I basically, accidently explained the whole session in the highlights section, so… yeah. You already know about science now!

My last session was dance and that was just funny! It was basically choreography of two gangs getting into a fight. There was so much of a long pause after the attacker punched, that the receiver could have just twisted their arm and ran!

So yeah, I’m looking forward to going to high school. I’m going to miss primary though.
