Principals Report
Dear Parents and Friends,
We welcome you warmly to Term two and look forward to a term of learning where our students will contribute to and value positive pathways. As we work together we will be accountable and challenge each other to take responsibility for our own actions in a manner that consistently respects others.
Throughout the term there will be many opportunities for families and the community to be involved in consultation and feedback around Greater Shepparton College (interim name). We encourage you all to take part in these sessions and work with us to plan for a rich learning culture for all of our students in Greater Shepparton. Dates and times of consultation sessions will be published on the College facebook page throughout the term.
Our first week of Term two was a short week with two Public Holidays. On Wednesday 24th April our VCAL students organised a magnificent whole-school Assembly in recognition of Anzac Day. The Assembly welcomed a guest speaker from the Shepparton RSL, and had some beautiful performances from our school choir amongst a number of other special attributes on the day. Our School Captains represented McGuire College on Thursday 25th April at the Anzac Day service, laying a wreath with other School Captains from across the Alliance. It was terrific to see a large number of McGuire College students and families at the Anzac Day service.
NAPLAN Online
Students in Year 7 and Year 9 will be taking part in NAPLAN Online between the 14/5 – 24/5. In 2018 McGuire College were a pilot school for NAPLAN Online and we received encouraging feedback from students after the trial around their positive engagement with the new NAPLAN testing process. We encourage all students to aim to achieve their personal best and try their hardest as they embark upon the 4 NAPLAN tests of reading, writing, language conventions and numeracy.

REAL Values
Students and parents are reminded of our REAL values of Respect, Environment, Accountability and Learning. Our staff are actively looking to recognise and reinforce students displaying our College values and the associated behaviours. Students are reminded to wear our McGuire College school uniform with pride.
