Deputy Principal

Mr Kim Forward
Open Evening
The College’s annual Twilight Open Evening is on Tuesday 29 October from 4.00pm to 7.00pm. Come along and enjoy music performances on the lawn, tour the Art & Design Exhibition and purchase BBQ meals, ice-cream and coffee. Please tell friends who may be considering enrolling children at Aitken College; there will be school tours happening throughout the evening.
Summer Uniform
All students should now be in Summer uniform, unless there is unseasonably cold weather during the first two weeks of Term 4. Please check that boys have enough shirts to get through a week, girls’ summer dresses are at the correct length and boys and girls have enough Aitken College socks.
The winter parka is not permitted during the Summer terms and should be left at home.
Volunteers needed for the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program
Parent volunteers are always needed for the Primary school Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. If you have a few hours to spare, have a Working With Children card and maybe some passion for gardening and food preparation, please contact Ms Emma Hannah at ehannah@aitkencollege.edu.au. Be part of the enthusiasm and enjoyment of the primary children as they discover the delights of the garden and the new Kitchen Garden Centre.
2019 Presentation Night
Please ensure that Monday 9 December is in your diary for Presentation Night. Attendance is compulsory for all Year 3 to Year 11 students; Year 12 students are strongly encouraged to be there for their last occasion, even though their celebration as a cohort is the Valedictory Dinner. Of course, all College families are encouraged and welcome; why not enjoy dinner at one of the many eateries along South Wharf or at Crown earlier in the evening. A letter with all details about Presentation Night will be emailed to parents later in the term.
Parent Information on My Aitken
In the Resources / Parents section on My Aitken, there is much information for parents of Aitken students, from term dates and calendar to canteen and uniform. Also included are policy statements that we encourage parents to be aware of. Our Teaching and Learning policy gives an outline of our emphasis in curriculum and classroom teaching. Our Discipline policy describes how student behaviour issues are managed and resolved.
