Student Distraction: Technology in the Classroom and Life
A Parent Information Evening for All Families
One of the greatest influences in young lives is the access to technology which competes for their attention almost 24 hours a day. Not even adults are immune. For students who need to focus in class and in social settings which can be life-defining, this cannot be ignored. With Governments and school bodies moving to address this issue why not attend our next Parent Information Evening to be held on Wednesday 6 November in Common Room 1 at 7.30pm. This evening is for parents only; however, an adjacent room will be available for any children. It will be an unsupervised space, so please consider this. Please feel free to contact me at the College at: cward@aitkencollege.edu.au or 9333 9100. There is a reply slip for this evening attached below. Please complete it and return as requested.

Small Change Challenge (7 – 11 October)
What better way to get rid of all your small change than to give it to a good cause? During Wellbeing Week at Aitken College held from Monday 7 October to Friday 11 October, the Library is co-ordinating the collection of small change (coins) to raise money for two organisations that are all about supporting the well being of children and adults. All the coins collected will be donated to Kids Help Line and Beyond Blue.
To participate, collect as many coins as you can and hand them to your child's Homeroom teacher, or bring them into the Library or Reception and add them to our challenge jar. From little things, big things grow. Any donation amount is welcome.
