Our Unit 2 Theatre Studies students have been working on a production of Oscar Wilde's 'A Woman of No Importance'. They performed their first show last night to a very impressed audience who were keen to give their reviews afterwards:
'Absolutley awesome!'
'I thought it was amazing.'
'I thought it was brilliant - outstanding acting, the scenes were perfect and the costumes were just out of this world.'
'I thought it was wonderful and what a great bunch of talented bunch of kids you've got acting.'
'I thought it was very good. I thought it was humorous . They all did a great job...some of the speeches that they pulled off were just amazing - more than I ever expected it to be. It was my first time here and I was just blown away!'
This student-led production forms part of the assessment for this Unit. Students worked collaboratively and took on acting, costume, set design, light and sound, and directing roles. We wish them good luck for their final performance tonight. Keep an eye out for all the photos and more details in our next newsletter. (These performances have limited seating for family and friends by prior arrangement.)
Wed 10 May, 6pm - 8pm, Mason House
Bookings are now open on Compass for Instrumental Music Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be in-person on Wednesday 10 May, 6pm to 8pm in Mason House.
Instrumental Music Conferences offer an opportunity for parents to meet the teacher and discuss the program, lessons, progress and any areas of concern.
We offer one face to face Conference (Term 2) and one online Conference (Term 4) each year, however these are subject to demand and are currently under review. Therefore, if Instrumental Music Conferences are important to you, we strongly encourage parents to make a booking.
This term we are Week 6. Showcases are an opportunity for students to further develop their performance skills in a slightly more formal setting than the Soirees. The four Showcases will be #1 Dance, #2 Contemporary, #3 Solos, #4 Ensembles. Tickets for family and friends will be available to purchase for $5 each through Trybooking and the Parents of Performing Arts will sell refreshments from 6:45pm each evening. Further information will be available on Compass in coming days.
The Parents of Performing Arts have once again put together a whopper prize pool for this year's Mother's Day Raffle. The POPA Committee does an incredible job supporting the teachers and students within our program through assisting with events and fundraising.
There are seven prizes to win in the 2023 Mother's Day raffle and you can get your $5 ticket here through Trybooking. Competition closes 11:59pm Wed 10 May. Winners chosen randomly and announced the following day. Prizes must be collected from the College. Good luck!
