Principal's Message

A message from our Principal

Dear All

Term two has certainly kicked off to a flying start with the success of the Fun RUN – which was held last week following on from its postponement from the original run in term one.  The fundraising aspect of this activity raised just under $20,000 – well done to our school community for their tremendous efforts in this regard.

Mothers’ Day stall

Happy Mothers’ Day to all our Mums and carers in our school community.  I hope you have a fabulous day on Sunday.

Today and tomorrow our Parents and Friends group are holding our annual Mothers’ Day stall and students will be given the opportunity to purchase a gift for mum or other special adult at these stalls.  Gifts will range in price from $1- 6 and children will need to bring a sturdy bag in which to transport home their shopping – away from mum’s prying eyes!   Students will also get the opportunity to win one of the raffle prizes that our parents club has put together. The prize is a fabulous gift for mum on Sunday and all children get one free entry into this raffle. The ‘shopping timetable’ for this is republished for you below.  A big thank you to the parents who have organised this stall and/or worked selling the items to young, eager shoppers.  This is a fabulous service to your school community.  Thank you.

Grade six camp

Just under 90 very eager year six students headed off on camp on Monday morning and returned yesterday afternoon tired and happy after a busy time away.  All reports suggest that they had a wonderful time, and some brave souls even had a try at surfing – despite the rather cold weather! A huge thank you to the attending staff who volunteered  their time, away from their own family, to provide this experience for our students.  A particular thank you to the camp organiser, Jonathan Evers for the many hours he has put in to make this camp a reality.  We have some photos of this event  for you to enjoy later in the newsletter.

School Photos

Our annual school photos were held on Thursday and Friday last week with all classes rotating through a roster to ensure we had everyone who was present in the photo.  Photos will be returned to school for delivery, but this can take some time.  At this stage we anticipate their arrival early term three.  The photographer will return 25th May to take individual photos of the the students and staff who were away on the  2 photo days.

School Council

Next Thursday is our next meeting of school council.  These are open to all.

School uniform

A reminder that there is an expectation that all students are in full school uniform each and every day.  It is also important that hats, jumpers/windcheaters/jackets are named.  We end up with more than 100 pieces of lost property each week – many of which we are unable to return as it is not named.  A friendly reminder that the marking with fade in the wash.  It may need to be redone!

Enjoy your upcoming weekend everyone
