Foundation Unit
Wild Action Incursion
Last Wednesday, the Foundation students had some very special visitors in the JU2 classroom. The visitors had fur, feathers and scales - and were native to Australia!
Holly from Wild Action introduced us to a wide range of Australian animals; from an Western Grey Kangaroo joey called Coco, to a baby Freshwater Crocodile!
The students were very engaged and learned a lot about our new friends. Did you know the latin name for a cranky-looking Tawny Frogmouth literally translates to ‘Grumpy Old Man’?
All of our Foundation students had the chance to touch the animals and even hold some of them. We had a fantastic time, and it has been the highlight of the year (so far) for lots of us!
Buddies
Did you know we have Grade 2/3 Buddies as well as Grade 5/6 Buddies? JU1 visited their buddies on Friday to do some Buddy Reading. We loved spending time in their room and were excited to read our readers to them! Then we got to read a Library book with them!
Happy Mother’s Day
The Foundation teachers would like to wish all of our Foundation mums a very happy Mother’s Day for this Sunday. Our students have been working hard to create some lovely things for you - we hope you enjoy them and get spoilt!
