Year 1 Unit

We have ROARED into Term 2 with great enthusiasm and have greatly enjoyed seeing the Year One students slip right back into their learning after a well-deserved break. We have set out today on our first excursion for the year, with a visit to the Melbourne Museum. Our main focus for the excursion is to ignite curiosity (or in some cases continue!) in Dinosaurs and Prehistoric creatures. The students will be completing the ‘Dinosaur Walk’ where they will closely investigate 17 skeletons of prehistoric animals. They will explore how prehistoric animals moved, ate and survived in their changing environments. This theme will be incorporated in our curriculum areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Integrated Unit throughout the term. Parents and carers be warned – you may need to brush up on those dinosaur names! We look forward to sharing photos and student reflections of the day with you all in the next WPS newsletter.
