AEL Work Experience

Our Year 10 Applied and Entrepreneurial Leaning (AEL) students attended work placement the last week of Term One.

This Year 10 Applied Learning Pathway provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their continued education and employment prospects. It aims to better prepare our students for a pathway that leads them into VCE-Vocational Major (VCE-VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) while also giving them a range of life skills. This program aims to develop students' understanding of the world of work and employability with students completing work experience blocks of one week each term.

Work experience is the short-term placement of secondary school students, where employers provide insights into the students' chosen industry.

This opportunity provides students with the valuable opportunity to develop employability skills, explore possible career options, understand employer expectations, and increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence, and self-confidence.

While undertaking work experience, our students are given the opportunity to observe different aspects of work within one of their chosen industries.

We had the pleasure in attending some workplace visits to check in and connect with our students and their Host Employer.

We thank the businesses within our community for hosting our students. These opportunities make a positive contribution to the education and development of students, assist in developing workplace skills and career decision-making. Hosting a student takes time and patience and we thank you for providing our students a placement opportunity.
