Growing Faith at Home

What do you treasure most in the world? How much is it really worth? The answer might reveal more than you think… e.g. Where you invest your time for starters…

Check out this week’s Growing Faith at Home talking points and activities and share them with your family!

Scholastic Bookclub

Scholastic catalogues are being sent home with students this week. Please use the Loop ordering system to place your orders.

Scholastic apps are available to download for both Apple and Android devices to make ordering through the Loop system easier.

There is the option to mark your purchases as GIFTS. When these books arrive you will be contacted directly, rather than books going home with students.

Please also note that some titles offered, differ from the Christian ethos followed by the school.

Orders need to be submitted via the LOOP ordering system or returned to the front office by Thursday 30th July 2020.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Little Lambs Playgroup

Some people have been asking when Little Lambs Playgroup is returning. Hopefully soon is the answer to that!  With some team members moving on, we are in need of new leaders and helpers to work together to get things up and running again. I am here to help and support this valuable community venture. If this is something that interests you, please come by for a chat or email me (here).

I would love to hear from you!

Can You Help in the Library?

Without volunteers in our school for much of the year, we find ourselves with a mountain of jobs to be done. We urgently require parents to shelve books for us; stamp/strip books/cover books. If you can give any time at all, please email Wendy Janetzki (here) in the library office or pop in to see her. Thank you in advance!

Costume Help Required

Mrs Deanshaw is seeking the assistance of volunteers to help her with costumes for the senior showcase.  If you would like to offer, or require information, please contact her here

Toolbox Parenting

Toolbox courses offer strategies and ideas to inspire and equip you on your parenting journey.  A six-week (x 2 hour) course will be held here at the school, beginning on August 4.

If you are seeking fun and practical parenting ideas, see the attached flyer.  If you have any questions, please contact Renee Baker (here), or Georgie Schuster.

Imagination Vacation Care

Imagination OSHC had a fun-filled three weeks of Vacation Care! With lots of smiles and fun activities for our in-house program.

Thanks to families and children for such an awesome time and for continuing to help our OSHC grow into such a thriving and engaging environment.

Need to Talk?

It is so wonderful to have parents back in the school again! We’ve missed you. Adapting to so much change has been quite challenging.

I would just like to remind you that I am here… If you would like to pop in for a chat about anything, please do!

I am available Tuesdays to Fridays.

Book Week Term 3: CURIOUS CREATURES, WILD MINDS!

Good Shepherd will celebrate Book Week in Week 6 (Term 3)

This year the Book Week Parade will be on WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST.

The parade will look different due to some restrictions. Please note the following:

  • The Parade will take place in class groups throughout the morning, with classes parading through classrooms and learning spaces as individual classes and not one giant whole school parade. (There will be no parade in Mengkiwodli.)
  • You will have an opportunity to take a class photo/photos in your child's class at drop off time in the morning.
  • There will be a Book Week focus throughout the school on this one day with class and buddy activities and literature-based learning to enjoy.
  • Students are invited to dress up as a book character and bring the book with you on parade to show ... OR
  • Students are invited to dress in the theme of Book Week (Curious Creatures, Wild Minds).
  • Please note that students are required to wear suitable footwear for outdoors at recess/lunchtime/PE lessons.

The dress up parade is optional.

Please bring a gold coin donation on Book Week Parade day to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (click here for further information)

There will be staff photo display in Tirkanthi...stay tuned for the surprise!
