Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers
This week’s Newsletter edition has a tribute to Father Michael (Mick) Wheeler – a prominent, long-serving Parish Priest of St Justin’s and an instigator in the building of Nazareth College.
Fr Wheeler’s funeral was held on Monday (17 August 2020) and it was an honour to have his casket draped with the Nazareth flag. This was symbolic of his love and passion for Nazareth College.
On your next visit to the Auditorium, the Wheeler Auditorium, you will see his photo in the front lobby.
May he now rest in peace with the reassurance that his great work will be remembered, will live on for many years to come and touch the lives of many young students and their parents.
Week 3 of Lockdown and Home Schooling
We are half way through the Stage 4 Lockdown restriction period and numbers and curves are beginning to look favourable. We all hope that face-to-face learning will return in mid September or at the beginning of Term 4.
Thank you for playing your part and for assisting in the online learning process. Together, we continue to make a difference.
Planning for 2021
As we move forward, the 2021 subject offerings are being finalised. These will then play a role in our staffing allocation for 2021.
Also, our facilities continue to improve and we eagerly await a response from the City of Greater Dandenong regarding a Building Permit. This is a slow process but one which needs to be thorough and accommodate the needs of surrounding residences. In the meantime, whilst our students are offsite, a number of internal improvement tasks are being completed ie further gardening, painting and improvements to our ICT infrastructure.
Invitation for Financial Assistance
In concluding, I invite any of you who find yourselves in financial hardship to contact the school and speak to Ms Julie Carlin (Accounts Receivable Officer) or email her at
Julie.carlin@nazareth.vic.edu.au
In times like these, we can assist you and will do our part to help.
Please stay safe, take care and look after your loved ones.
God bless
Mr Sam Cosentino
Principal
