For your information

Mobile Phones

If your child needs to bring a mobile phone to school for safety reasons (eg walking to and from school), they need to advise their teacher that they have their phone at school and hand it to the teacher at the beginning of the school day. They can then collect it from the teacher at the end of the day. Mobile phones are not to be used by students during the day or taken into the school yard at break times.

Traffic Safety

A reminder that there is no parking on Karoomba Road before school for school drop off and after school for school pick up. It is also not permitted to stop either side of the school crossing to drop off or pick up children. This is a safety hazard as students crossing the road are unable to see traffic approaching and the drivers are unable to see pedestrians. It is also not permitted to park on the footpath. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students and families safe.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Our school will once again be collecting information for the NCCD. All schools are required to collect information about the numbers of students that they provide adjustments to under the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and Disability Standards of Education. This data is used as the basis for national funding.

The NCCD involves the collection of;

• the number of students receiving adjustments to enable them to participate in education on the same basis as other students

• the level of adjustment provided to students

• student’s type of disability if known

Under the model the definition of disability is broad and includes learning difficulties, health and mental health conditions.

If your child is identified for inclusion in the Collection, the required information will be included in this year’s data collection.
