Classroom News - Year 5

Welcome back to Term 3

Welcome back to all our students who have settled very well into Term 3. We hope you have all had a lovely break and we look forward to seeing students strive to do their best and enjoying all learning activities. Term 3 will be a very busy and fun term. 

Term 3 Learning

In English we are currently studying the story of Jandamarra. We are continuing with our VCOP focuses and Big Write sessions and currently we are looking at the informative text genre. In Mathematics we are studying Estimation and Rounding and Fractions for the first few weeks. Our first PBL is called Survivor and is based around a variety of Personal Development and Health issues relating to Empathy, Respect, Inclusion and Bullying and other related issues. In Religion we are learning about the history of the Catholic Church in Australia. 

Welcome Mr Todd

We would like to welcome Mr Todd who is studying to become a teacher and is with us until the end of Week 5. He has been warmly welcomed by the students and has had a great start to his time at St Mary's.
