Classroom News - Year 2

Welcome Mrs Cain

Year 2 started Term 3 with enthusiasm and energy. We are delighted to have welcomed Mrs Dale Cain to our teaching team on Thursdays and Fridays. We look forward to all the exciting learning the Year 2 team have in store for the remainder of the year.

A New Space

At the end of Term 2 the music room relocated to the hall. This left a new learning space for different classes to use. We have been taking advantage of a newly created learning space to spread out and enjoy activities together as a year group, mainly in Religion and Maths. This has allowed us to have some great hands on and collaborative lessons that have enhanced our learning. We are looking forward to having some more fun and engaging lessons in this space!

Labels

At this time of year, lots of children are peeling off some layers when they get into the classroom. Can you please ensure that your child has every item of clothing labeled so it can go home with the correct owner.

Along with this, many lunch-boxes and food containers also have been left behind at school. We ask that all containers are labeled so that they are also able to be returned to the correct owner.

Home Readers and Library Books

We would like to remind parents that we value their input in facilitating the home reading program. Home readers and library books are due into school each Thursday for changeover.

Geography

This term we are learning about Australia's position in the world and the importance of places. This week our particular focus is on the Southern Hemisphere and its features. We have loved learning about our amazing country! This week we had some much fun making up some dance moves to The Land Down Under.
