Year 9 and 10 2021 Subject Selections

Over the fortnight, our Year 8 and 9 students have been engaged in getting know and choose their selective subjects for 2021. Their levels of engagement with the process, despite the challenges of Remote Learning, is to be commended - within 24 hours, 60% of students across Years 8 and 9 had submitted their subject selections.

Doing Things a Little Differently...

Since mid-Term 2, our teachers at Edgars Creek Secondary College have been working hard behind the scenes to plan for and update our suite of selective subjects on offer for 2021.

The Subject Selection process was conducted a little differently this year, owing largely to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Stage 4 lockdown in place.

Comprehensive handbooks for both Year 9 2021 and Year 10 2021 were published online, with details about a range of subjects and opportunities on offer for our students.

In addition, quick videos about each subject were created by our teachers to give our students a bit more insight into what each subject would be about.

Coming Up

We aim to give all our students access to all their selected subjects. Now that subject selections have closed, each selection will be carefully considered alongside a number of things, including:

Number of classes on offer for each subject; and
Availability of facilities.

If a student is not able to receive one of their first preferences, then their most preferred backup preference will be selected.
