Parent Conferences 

We recently held our Parent Conferences on Wednesday 5th August. Due to COVID-19 restrictions we were unable to hold face to face conferences with the school community, so all appointments were conducted via a phone conversation with all appointments made via the Compass App.

We believe the event was very successful with 429 conferences involving 36 of our teachers and leaders being actively involved in discussion regarding students learning.  

However, given the un-precedent circumstances and the relatively short notice for the new format we were keen to get feedback from our school community. So, we released a survey to you to get your feedback and I wish to share these positive survey results with you.

How organised was the Student Conference Event?

The feedback on the organisation of the event was very positive with the majority of survey responses rating the organisation as extremely organised or very organised. Although a small number of  families also reported they were unable to attend and we can understand their frustration as these events are always very popular.

How helpful was the teachers feedback on my child's learning?

We asked parents how helpful the teachers feedback was for their child's learning and we are very proud of the results with all responses positive and the vast majority rating the feedback extremely helpful or very helpful.  This reflects the strong commitment and professionalism with which our staff approach this important event and I will take this opportunity to thank them on behalf of school community.

 I would prefer the school offer student conferences ... with choice of 5 options?

Given the major changes to the way the conferences were held this year we wanted to collect some information regarding your views on not just how you found the phone conferences but your thought on how we could conduct conferences in the future?

The feedback regarding future conferences supported our decision to move this event to phone based conferences with over 30% supporting this method,  support for face to face conferences remained strong with 26% of responses, however the strongest message was the support for offering families greater choice with almost 35% of the responses favouring this option.

On behalf of the college I wish to thank all parents for attending and supporting the conference and those of you who took the opportunity to provide us with some feedback on this important event. We will use this feedback when planning our next round of parent conferences.
