New Permission Note Format

I have been informed that the new permission note format recently attached to the Kelly's Plains School excursion note has raised some questions.  The note template has been provided to us by the department of education legal services and we are required to use it. We acknowledge that this is quite a process and have sought advice from the department of education, from this we have been granted permission to send out a "blanket" note at the beginning of each semester requesting this information. This will then cover most situations although there will still be further requests for some sporting events. Now that we have this updated information from you, we will be able to stream line our permission notes for the remainder of the year so they are not as complex.  We appreciate your patience as we navigate our requirements.

Learn to Swim School

We have been able to arrange our learn to swim program for 2022 commencing from next Wednesday.  We apologise for the late notice, it has been extremely difficult time find instructors with a current qualification.  We have been advised that school staff are able to run learn to swim programs, so we have worked out a plan for us to do this.  Please note, we will assess the weather each day before we go.  I realise our current spring weather is less than average at the moment and therefore if we believe that the water or weather will be too cold, we will not hold the program on the day.  We will always keep parents updated through the SkoolBag app.  Anne has secured some funding for the program to go ahead (thanks Anne) so there is no cost for students.

Last day of school for 2022

The last day of school for students and staff at Rocky River Public School is Friday 16th December. Staff have already worked their school development day off which means all students and staff can finish school on the same day.

Assembly on Friday

We will hold our last assembly for 2022 on Friday afternoon from 2.15pm.  The assembly will be a little shorter than normal as we are preparing for presentation day and our end of year concert.  We invite all members of our school community to join us.

Presentation Day and School Concert

Just a reminder that our Presentation Day and School Concert (The Wizard of Oz) will be held on Friday 9th December from 11am.  Please see below advertisement created by Cailey.  We will also be holding a dress rehearsal the day before with students from our small school cluster and residents from McMaugh Gardens coming along.

Kindergarten Orientation

Thanks for Jess Fortescue, Sarah Harper and Claire Wood for coordinating a very smooth and calm kindergarten orientation program over the last 5 weeks.  We hope all students and their families have  enjoyed their time with us and we look forward to seeing you all next year.

Please Return Work Sample Folders

At the end of term 2, we sent home work sample folders with student reports containing examples of work throughout the year.  As we are preparing final assessments and reports for the end of the year, could all families please send these back so we can add the remaining samples for semester 2 by the end of this week?  Thank you to those students who have returned theirs.
