From the Acting Principal 

I am grateful for…

The opportunity I have had to lead Carnegie Primary School through this period of transition. I have loved being a part of the community and am looking forward to supporting the school, staff and students for the remaining weeks as we see out the term. I have learnt an incredible amount during this time and the message I would like to convey to all families is that you have a great school with a very dedicated staff.

Remembrance Day

In recognition of Remembrance Day and acknowledgement of the fallen, on Friday the 11th of November we held one minute of silence at 11:00am, and we listened to the last post as a school. Our Junior School Council sold poppies, slouch hat badges, keyrings and arm bands in recognition of this important day.

Update on Building Works

We have ordered padding for the poles for our new shade sails and we anticipate that this will be delivered and installed shortly. This area is already proving to be enhanced by the new sail. Once the sun begins to shine, it will be a great space for students to stay out of the sun.

The initial kick-off meeting for the toilet block upgrade is scheduled to take place later this week. After this meeting, we hope to be able to update our community about the start date for the upgrade. 

2023 Class Structures

We are still seeing some fluctuation in enrolment numbers, however we anticipate we will have 5 prep classes, 4 year 1 classes, 4 year 2 classes, 4 year 3 classes, 3 year 4 classes, 3 year 5 classes, and 3 year 6 classes.

Further details will be shared with families prior to the end of term in line with previous practices.

Reports for Students Arriving/Leaving

You will receive your child’s semester 2 report on Compass at the end of this term. Please note that your child will not receive a report for this semester if they are leaving the Carnegie Primary School during this term, or if you have just joined the school this term.

If your child is leaving Carnegie PS at the end of the year, please make sure you download all reports before the end of the school year as you will lose access to Compass from the end of the school year.
