Thank you for your patience in receiving the "Week Four Newsletter", we thought was important to add Friday's "Fun Day" instead of waiting another two weeks!

Also for all of the 4/5 parents sending their cherubs to camp next year to Canberra... I just picked my sick one up from St Mary's Canberra Camp on Thursday.. just know that if I call you next year to collect yours, I commiserate :)!

We have celebrated two very important days in the Catholic Church's Liturgical Calendar this past week.  Firstly with 'All Saints Day' on Tuesday and secondly, 'All Souls Day' on Wednesday. Students participated in a Liturgy celebrating the two days on Tuesday afternoon in the Year 5/6 room. Demonstrating to our students the importance of prayer life outside of the church building.  If you would like to know more about the connections between the saints and All Saints Day,  Fr. James Martin describes the connections, including: canonisation process, patron saints and highlights of various individual saints.  HERE

Creative Arts Presentation:

I know I did this on Wednesday evening but I would again like to highlight the amazing effort of staff and students in preparing and performing on Wednesday  night. Such a pleasure to see all of their hard work, coming to fruition and seeing all of our parents/carers, family and friends coming to show their support.

I love all of the performances and the energy of all of our students.. but who can beat the energy of Vinny dancing in our Transition performance? ABSOLUTELY SMASHED IT!

Staffing 2023

St Mary of the Angels, Guyra will have some changes to staffing in 2023.

Firstly, Mrs Matilda Hunt our brilliant Leader of Pedagogy, will be heading to St Joseph's Uralla with Judy Elks.  As many of you know Matilda has been with St Mary of the Angels for 8 years and in this time has had two beautiful children.

The move to St Joseph's will make the final few years at home with children much easier than the 45 min drive each way.  I know that you will all join me in wishing Matilda the best of luck with her move as she heads back into the classroom at St Joseph's.  She is an amazing educator and I know that Judy knows how lucky she is.  The Leader of Pedagogy position will be advertised as soon as possible.

Miss Jenna Campbell, has been given the opportunity to teach in a rural remote setting in the Northern Territory for 2023. Jenna will be able to further develop her skills and interest in Indigenous Education, as well as provide her the opportunity to develop her teaching and leadership skills in other schools. We are looking forward to hearing of Miss Campbell's adventures and the skills she will be learning! Whilst sad to see her go, we know that she will be back to the Armidale Diocese soon!

SMOTA has been successful in appointing a teacher to replace Miss Campbell and will share this news with the parent community as soon as possible.
