Recently several Mount Carmel students have experienced success in competitions.

Fanshu Lin (Year 6) and Charlotte Bateman (Year 10) both gained a High Distinction in this year’s Australian Maths Competition (AMC).  This is a fantastic achievement.  Fanshu and Charlotte have been invited to attend the AMC award ceremony at the Crowne Plaza on Tuesday 22 November in recognition of their outstanding achievement.  

Ella Muller (Year 10) and Matilda Mortiz (Year 9) entered a statewide story competition, run by Tasmanian Catholic Education.  There were many entries from around the state and both girls made the short-list, a wonderful achievement.  Ella and Matilda will attend an Awards ceremony also on Tuesday 22 November to hear the announcement on which students from around the State have won.

Last Friday selected students from Years 7-9 were invited to participate in an English Enrichment workshop, working with Emily Conolan, a Tasmanian author.  Thank you to Hedwig Hill and Imogen Gray for supporting this valuable experience.
