Alpine School
Our eight Year 9 students representing DSC at the Alpine School for Student Leadership camp have just completed their first 4 weeks away! The Alpine School provides experiential education to support our students' personal growth, aspirations and their transformation into a global citizen. Only 2% of students in our state are given the opportunity to attend this education facility. Located in the Don Valley, our students have been taking part in so many memorable and life-changing experiences:
Through rain, hail, and sunshine, students navigate an expedition through Murrindindi Reserve
Bird watching and paddling down the Yarra river
Riding the Lilydale to Warburton trail
Working out the best knots to use when constructing a bridge
Lots and lots of hilly hiking
Practicing Yoga and Yoga Nidra to gain some much needed deep rest
Oscar-winning performances in the Basic First Aid training course
To mark their first month away from school and their families, our Middle School teachers have collated and posted a care pack to our Alpine School students. We miss them but we also know what an amazing time they are having!
