Dear parents, students and staff,

Well here we are at the end of Term One, having successfully navigated our way through the challenges which came our way early in the term.

I would like to sincerely congratulate all of our new students, Year 10s and Year 11s, for settling quickly into their new routines at their new school.

You have all done a mighty job, and we are very pleased to have you all aboard. To our Year 11 and 12 'veterans', thank you for helping all of the new students

settle in so quickly, and helping JMSS resume normal operations in the relatively smooth way it has. Also to all of our staff, congratulations on your outstanding work this term.

It has not been a simple matter of 'resuming normal service' after the very memorable 2020. The uncertainty which reigned through the Christmas break, and resumed early this term,

did not allow many of us to truly relax. I hope that time has come now for all of you, and you all enjoy a well-earned break from work.

I intend to send another 'Update to Community' over the weekend, so won't take up too much time and space here. Hopefully all of you can have a most restful and well-earned break, giving us all a genuine opportunity to refresh and recharge after the challenges of 2020, and the relative uncertainties associated with the beginning of this term. Let us hope that the 'new Covid normal' becomes a reliable and consistent reality from now on.

Best regards.
